How does PMI Foam Core perform under high-temperature composite curing?

PMI Foam Core maintains mechanical stability during curing temperatures up to 180–220°C, with selected grades tolerating short-term exposure near 250°C. This allows it to be used with epoxy, BMI, and high-temperature resin systems without core collapse or dimensional distortion.

Unlike thermoplastic foams, PMI does not soften during cure, ensuring consistent laminate thickness, skin adhesion, and predictable mechanical performance.
