The exceptional insulation is achieved by the millions of microscopic, closed cells within the PET foam core. These cells trap stagnant air, which has an extremely low thermal conductivity (lambda value), effectively eliminating convective heat transfer. A 50mm thick, 100kg/m³ density PET core can provide thermal resistance equivalent to over a meter of brick masonry. As a continuous insulation layer in a wall system, it eliminates the thermal bridging found in stud-and-cavity construction, providing unbroken insulation that dramatically boosts a building’s total effective R-value and energy efficiency.
