Installation is designed for speed and a clean finish. Panels are typically installed vertically or horizontally onto a structural framing system (steel or aluminum studs).
- Fastening: Hidden fixing systems are common for a seamless look. This often involves “J-channels” or “C-channels” that capture the panel edges. Panels can also be screwed directly through the face into framing, with caps covering the fastener heads.
- Joining: The most critical aspect is sealing the joints to maintain hygiene and insulation continuity. Common methods include:
- Overlapping Joints: With a cover strip or batten sealed with silicone.
- Spline Joints: A separate “H” or “I” profile that connects two panel edges.
- Tongue & Groove Joints: Integrated into the panel edges for a tight fit, sealed with gaskets or mastic.
- Sealing: High-quality, flexible, and sanitary silicone sealant is used at all joints, corners, and penetrations.
