What does “Density” (kg/m³ or lb/ft³) mean for foam core performance?

Density is the primary determinant of both Price and Strength.

  • Low Density (30-60 kg/m³): Used for panels where weight is paramount but loads are low (e.g., RV walls, truck box liners). Cheaper but dents easily.
  • Medium Density (80-130 kg/m³): The “workhorse” range. Used in wind blades and boat hulls. Good compression strength for vacuum bagging.
  • High Density (>200 kg/m³): Used for high-load point attachments (e.g., bolting a winch to a deck). Almost solid plastic.
