What is the practical value of “low water absorption” and “low resin absorption” in building applications?

These two properties are pivotal for long-term durability and cost-efficiency. With a closed-cell content exceeding 95%, our PET foam has a volumetric water absorption rate typically below 1%. This guarantees that the panel’s thermal insulation performance will not decay in high-humidity or rain-soaked conditions, and it completely resists freeze-thaw cycle damage. Conversely, the low resin absorption means that during manufacturing, the foam surface does not “drink up” expensive adhesives. This reduces lamination costs and prevents the bond line from becoming over-resinated, which would otherwise add weight and create a brittle, failure-prone interface.
